Nesly Clerge received his bachelor’s degree in physiology and neurobiology at the University of Maryland, and later pursued a doctoral degree in the field of chiropractic medicine. Although his background is primarily science-based, he has finally embraced his lifelong passion for writing. Clerge’s debut novel, When the Serpent Bites, is available, as well as the second book in The Starks Trilogy, When the Dragon Roars. The trilogy books explore choices, consequences, and the complexities of human emotions, especially when we are placed in a less-than-desirable setting. In 2017, Nesly Clerge's first book of the Starks trilogy received the gold medal international book award for best fiction from Readers' Favorite.  The second book of the Starks trilogy was awarded the silver medal. When he is not writing, Clerge manages several multidisciplinary clinics. For over two decades, Joyce L. Shafer has edited the work of budding and dedicated authors and short story writers, while living in New York City and in her new location in the Deep South. Within the last decade, she added playwright to her skills. Two of her co-authored plays were performed to rave reviews Off-Off Broadway. She now primarily applies her services to developmental editing and ghost writing/ghost rewriting fiction.
